I’ve spent my career at the intersection of technology, communication, and human behavior, viewing it all through the lens of user experience (UX). Whether I’m on stage, advising executives, or hosting my podcast, my goal is the same: to help technical leaders master the interpersonal side of their work, so their ideas land, their influence grows, and real change happens.

Ahead of the Curve from the Start

Long before Zoom was a verb, I was exploring the challenges of remote collaboration. I wrote my doctoral dissertation on virtual team communication in 2001, putting me at the forefront of how technology shapes work and how people can thrive within it. That early insight continues to inform my work with organizations navigating hybrid work, digital transformation, and rapid change.

From UX Leader to Global Stage

Before stepping onto stages and into boardrooms, I spent over a decade leading UX teams and building digital products around the globe. I was employee #23 at a fast-paced tech startup, an award-winning professor in the university classroom, and an intrapreneur inside a global corporation where I led a rogue UX team that changed how the company worked.

And when I’m not speaking or writing about the future of work, you might find me paddleboarding on a Minnesota lake, making the perfect cup of coffee, or demonstrating my superpower: world-class parallel parking in a too-small space, on the first try.
